WHO WE ARE
Hello, my name is Fabio. I was born and raised in Vernianello and I worked here as a boy with growing passion.
Since 2005 I manage with my wife Ilenia, the family business, handed down from father to son for more than four generations.
I love my job because it allows me to have direct contact with nature and with my roots.
Despite "Vernianello" is a small farm (only 11 hectares) take care of everything is very challenging.
For me and my wife it is actually a pleasure to welcome into our house guests from around the world, learn about their stories and, when possible, making them partners of ours.
It 'a very nice job ours, where there is always something to learn or to improve .... and every year we continue to do so, thanks to the advice and recommendations of our guests (most of which become "friends") ...
A big “Thank you” is for all of you!
... finally to reflect ...
<< Into a frenzied and chaotic world like today it is important to find the time to stop, reflect and rebalance. Contemplate nature in silence and surrounded by greenery definitely helps to do so. It 'just when you can appreciate the beauty of simplicity and authenticity that also manages to find its own priorities, to understand what is really important .... Choose the essential instead of the superfluous, the substance rather than the form >>
A FAMILY, A HISTORY
Vernianello has always belonged to the family Mezzedimi.
The house dates back to the early 1600's and was part of a very large property which included, in addition to other lands , rural houses and the manor house.
Originally, the “mezzadri” (peasants who worked the land) lived in this house
The family history is interesting ,it originated from a wealthy family from Colle V.E.
About the year 1580, this family was divided into two branches for reasons of inheritance between .two brothers, Paolo and Francesco.
Francesco adopted the coat of arms you see and we are descended from that branch.
You can still admire the coat of arms in the church of San Lucchese (in the oldest part of Poggibonsi).
About three generations ago, the property underwent a new division, again for reasons of inheritance. This time between Costantino (Fabio's great-grandfather) and his brother Luigi.
The property was divided into two parts: a larger, but, in a disadvantageous position, and, the other smaller, but, in a higher position, with wonderful views over the valley and the hills.
Our great-grandfather Costantino chose the second option and we still thank him for that choice !!!
